The Narrow Gauge Union
Stretching from the high Allegheny Front of the Virginias to the coastal plains of Eastern Shore and the Carolinas is a region resplendent with old, isolated industrial sites and the modelers who portray them in miniature. This website serves as a record of their escapades and accomplishments.
The Narrow Gauge Union had its beginning as a group of model railroaders building an On30 layout in the Virginia Transportation Museum in Roanoke. It has grown regionally to include modelers throughout Virginia and North Carolina. Members ply their craft on home layouts, portable modules, and dioramas.
We are modelers working in a range of scales and gauges. Through our participation in the Narrow Gauge Union we display our work and share feedback, recommendations, and techniques. At our Meets we present clinics on various modeling and historical subjects.
